Our Leadership Lounge

Whew! The end of Quarter 1 is a week away and I'm finally settling in to my new role. It's been a learning experience for sure!

I wanted to share a few before and after photos of our Leadership Lounge. We had a Leadership Lounge last year, but no one to really "man" it. Well, now that's me and it's been a blast.

We use it as a meeting spot for both our adult Lighthouse Team and the Student Lighthouse Team. Also, all classes K-5 come for a Leadership Lesson from me about twice a month. I will be sharing some lessons in upcoming posts.

This is what I walked into over the summer:

And here are some changes we made:

We had a lot of fun adding the little details around the room. Thanks to the people (and Pinterest) for the great inspiration! A special thanks to Mrs. Hines and Mrs. Mickey for your painting skills!

Our Student Lighthouse Team is currently working on their own bulletin board to introduce themselves. It's a work in progress.

Stay tuned for some Leadership displays from around our school. Exciting things are happening!

New Adventure

Hi! You might know me from my former blog, Second Grade Silliness.

Check out those adventures!

Well at the end of the 2013/2014 school year, my administrators asked me to take on a new role. My new job will be the "Graduation Enhancement Teacher" which means I will be working with  students who need behavior interventions and incorporating our Leadership mission into classroom routines.

We are a Leader in Me school and we are working toward Lighthouse status. The point of this new blog is to share some of the leadership activities we do as we work toward our goal.

I'm hoping that my Second Grade Silliness fans come on over and follow me on this new adventure and to find some new friends along the way.
